James Stevens Curl has addressed numerous conferences and given learned papers on an astonishing range of subjects. Among the topics about which he has spoken are:

Some of his papers were given as part of major international exhibitions, such as ‘Egypt Outside Egypt’ at the University of Bologna, ‘Egyptomania’ at The Louvre in Paris, ‘The Inspiration of Egypt’ at Brighton Museum, and ‘International Conference on the History of Freemasonry’ at Freemasons’ Hall, Edinburgh.

He has also spoken at a Symposium in Germany on ‘Symbolism in 18th-Century Gardens’, and given eloquent presentations at many international and national events.
